Change of Details
St Brigid's Primary School Ballan wishes to acknowledge respectfully the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn, play and gather. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
As we approach the end of Term 2, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you all for your continuous, ongoing support. I would particularly like to acknowledge the wonderful work of our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure that St Brigid’s provides a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all children. Our staff are flexible, positive, enthusiastic and do not hesitate to step in where there is a need! Our children are absolute superstars who embrace all opportunities that school provides! Our key learning dispositions of Bravery, Curiosity, Collaboration, Resilience and Perseverance are certainly evident in our children every day.
When reflecting upon this term, it is important to consider the many wonderful events and successes that have shaped Semester 1. Memorable experiences have taken place including our Mother's Day breakfast and liturgy, sacramental program, athletics day, excursions and camps. On Friday evening our St Brigid’s School Disco took place at the Ballan Mechanics Hall. Our disco was a huge success with 70 children in attendance. A massive thank you to our wonderful parents and friends committee for organising this fabulous event for our children. Thank you also to staff who were able to attend.
Have a wonderful break with your loved ones and I look forward to seeing you back at St Brigid’s next term on Tuesday 11th July at 8.55am.
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth

Recently we have advertised a position for a Learning Support Officer for Term 3. I am very pleased to inform you that Sharon Rex has been appointed to this role commencing on Tuesday 11th July.
A very warm welcome to Alexander Cauchi and family, who will join our St Brigid’s school community next term. Alexander will join our Year 3/4 classroom.
To celebrate the end of Term 2, Parents and Friends are offering hot dogs for lunch this Friday 23rd June. One hot dog in a roll per child is being supplied (no cost involved).
If your child does not want a hot dog or if there are any specific dietary requirements please advise via email administration@sbballan.catholic.edu.au
Please send snacks or a sandwich to school if more lunch is needed in addition to the hot dog.

Meet and Greet…
Josh, our director of learning and Kayla, our customer service and billings manager will be visiting St Brigid’s this Thursday 22nd June from 2:30pm to meet families and assist with the registration process.
A reminder that Monday 10th July is a Student Free Day where staff will once again participate in a professional learning day, partnering with St Michael's Primary School and St Alipius Primary school, facilitated by Corwin Australia focusing on Visible Learning. On this day, KidsCo are planning on facilitating a day of fun filled activities at St Brigid's!
All children are expected to be at school ready to begin by 8.55am daily. From 8.55am, children in F-1 are immersed in the explicit teaching of phonics while children in Years 2-6 take part in Spelling Mastery.
Parents are expected to phone through to the office the child’s absence on the day, or through our school Parent Access Module (PAM). If there has been no contact from the family in the morning of the absence, a sms from the office confirming the child’s absence from school will be sent.
Thank you for your understanding.
We have now transitioned to full winter uniform. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct winter uniform to school each day including bringing the St Brigid’s school bag to and from school daily.
Children are able to wear sports uniform each Wednesday and on classroom nominated sports day as directed by your child’s classroom teacher. Given the nature of Physical Education lessons, on Wednesday’s children can wear either correct sports shorts or pants.
We are currently exploring options regarding tracksuit pants, sport shorts and rain coats. More details to follow regarding these items.
All of the timetabled events (to date) for the school year can be found on our school calendar which can be accessed through PAM and via this newsletter.
