God of hope, who brought love into this world,
be the love that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought peace into this world,
be the peace that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought joy into this world,
be the joy that dwells between us.
God of hope, the rock we stand upon,
be the centre, the focus of our lives
always, and particularly this Advent time.
Amen
Dear Parents and Families,
The season of Advent has begun and continues through the four Sundays of Advent and ends at Christmas Eve. The first week of Advent focuses on the return of the Lord and the following weeks focus more specifically on the anticipation of the birth of Jesus. Rather than simply commemorating an historical event, Advent is a time of preparing our hearts to ‘receive’ Jesus into the world each year.
On Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, we celebrated two Sacramental Masses at St Brigid’s church where children received the Sacrament of Confirmation and also received communion for the first time in the presence of our community. It was lovely to gather together and share in this special occasion with families. A very big thank you to Therese Winter for her hard work and preparation with organising the sacramental program! Thank you also to our children and families who were so patient in waiting for restrictions to ease.
We are really looking forward to Step Up Day tomorrow. On this day we will welcome our Foundation 2022 children and new families to school. This day also provides all levels with the opportunity to spend time in their 2022 classes.
Take care and God Bless,
Jayne Bosworth

Graduation will take place on Thursday 9th December, 2021 and will consist of a Liturgy at 2:00pm at the St Brigid's church followed by a dinner at Donegan’s Farm, arriving at 5:30pm and commencing at 6:00pm sharp. Please note that adults will be required to check in with a QR code when entering the St Brigid’s Church and Donegan’s Farm. Adults will also be required to provide evidence of full vaccination status or a valid medical exemption.
Teachers have been working towards preparing student reports for Semester 2. Again this year, as a result of the significant period of remote learning, there are changes to the requirements of schools in the way these reports are provided. The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria Ltd (CECV) has worked with the other sectors in Victoria to develop a consistent approach to the reporting of student achievement and progress. The reporting requirements reflect the approved reporting exemptions provided by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. This Semester, teachers will be providing an overview of what has been covered in key learning areas. They will also provide an indication of the progress made by each student in these areas, accompanied by a general comment reflecting each individual student's learning journey through Semester 2. Reports will be available via PAM on Tuesday 14th December.
Hot Lunches will continue this Friday 3rd December. Again, we thank Mickal Trinder and Hayley Plageman for volunteering their time to do this.
Please see the attached menu for options and pricing. A copy will also be made available on PAM.
Lunch orders are due in by no later than Wednesday afternoon and are to be placed in the blue lunch tin in the main school foyer.
Please write your child’s name, class and lunch items on a brown paper bag, and enclose money. Any change will be taped to the paper bags. Please remember, two bags are required if having a dessert item as well.
We have some existing orders from earlier in Term 3. If you have an existing order, we will communicate this with you via your child’s Seesaw account. This order can roll over to next weeks hot lunch order.
Just a reminder that children need to bring drink bottles and hats to school each day!
