Change of Details
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
This week the Catholic community celebrates two significant feast days - All Saints Day (1st November) and All Souls Day (2nd November).
In commemorating these two feast days, the Church celebrates the role of people who have gone before, who are recognised officially by the Church community or not, for their work in bringing about the Reign of God, or by partnering with God in bringing God’s great dream for creation to reality. Another way of expressing this is they have been sharers of the Good News.
In these two great celebrations, the Church community acknowledges with joy these bearers of the Good News and remembers them in prayer.
This week also marks World Teachers’ Day, celebrated across Australia on Friday, 31 October 2025. It is a time to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary dedication and impact of teachers — their daily commitment to nurturing, inspiring and guiding young people. The contributions of teachers to our society are immeasurable and we take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude for their work and the difference they make every day in the lives of students and families.
Have a wonderful week,
Jayne Bosworth
'Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.'

Our next P&F meeting will take place on Monday 17th November from 3.15pm - 4.00pm in our school Library. An active P&F committee allows families the opportunity to play a valuable part in providing social and fundraising activities. Please attend this meeting if you are interested in joining our P&F committee. Any help would be greatly appreciated as all funds raised contribute to resources and materials to support your children in their holistic development.
Our school is again facilitating our annual St Brigid’s Christmas Raffle. We are currently seeking donations for this raffle and would greatly appreciate it if you could make a donation to contribute to our raffle. We will be promoting the raffle prizes, donations and businesses on our St Brigid’s Facebook/instagram page. All money raised from this raffle will go back to our school.
We are now finalising our 2026 enrolments and currently have spaces available across most year levels. Additional school tour dates have been added to our website to accommodate interested families.
If you know of any families considering enrolment at St Brigid’s in 2026, please encourage them to get in touch with the school office or visit our website - https://sbballan.catholic.edu.au/event-registration-form to book a tour.
We are pleased to advise that we have engaged with an OSHC provide to commence at the beginning of 2026. We will provide you with updates including the name of the provider in the coming weeks.
On Friday 12th December we will again be facilitating a school colour run. On this day, children are invited to wear casual clothes including a white or black tshirt that can be coated in colour. Information regarding this fundraiser, including a permission form on PAM, will be distributed this week. This year we will not be fundraising through Fundraising Australia, instead we are asking for a gold coin donation to go towards our oval upgrade.
All of the timetabled events (to date) for the school year can be found on our school calendar which can be accessed through PAM and via this newsletter.

Suzanne Beaver will again be at St Brigids every Tuesday this year.
Suzanne is available for individual sessions with children. Common issues addressed are managing strong emotions, self esteem, friendship issues, anxiety, and family challenges such as illness, grief and separation.
Suzanne is also available for individual sessions with parents. Topics can include a range of parenting challenges, i.e. managing strong emotions, school reluctance, helping your child form strong friendships, and helping your child to navigate family separation.
Suzanne can also assist you in finding the right external support for your child and family.
This is a great service provided right here at school. Please don't hesitate to contact Suzanne with any concerns you might have. Contact Suzanne by phone on a Tuesday or by email any day sbeaver@sbballan.catholic.edu.au.
You can also access the service through the office or your classroom teacher.
Hot lunches will resume this week and take place each Friday via the online ordering system - Spriggy Schools on SZapp.
Volunteers
We have re-introduced a roster looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve lunches on each Friday. Ideally 3 helpers are required.
If you are available to help out on a Friday between 11.30am-1.00pm please contact the school office with your dates (valid Working with Children Check is required).
The children really enjoy hot lunches and this can only happen with the help of volunteers!
